We spent a glorious week in Febuary 2015 at the Barbican working on our new piece as part of their Open Lab project! We got to work with an amazing lighting designer and team at the Barbican to get our set up just right and then! What wonderful, open participants to come and share all their creative insights and ideas. It was more productive and inspiring then we ever could have thought.
We got to play and change and experiment and investigate and discuss. We posed big questions like what is theatre vs an experiment vs social choreography? and where is the ethical line of how far you can push your audience/participants? as well as looking at the way our piece reflects how hierarchies emerge and how institutions manipulate society. We discovered the intimate moments and interesting nuances of the moments between actions and, despite never being seen, the dynamic of how we were still very much active performers.
We are now continuing the research and development phases of the piece so keep an eye out for the
preview showing of the new piece coming later this year!
