The future is unknown.
We are teetering in uncharted territory politically, emotionally, economically, digitally, physically. This is what we think the future might look like... The Rough Sketches Project is two evenings of experimental art and performance by a collection of artists. See below for all the amazing artists who will be presenting their work and helping us build a Dystopian Reality showing what we think the future may hold... For tickets click here |

It happens one day and it’s gone. You feel like you can never get it back. It just sort of happens one day… is a contemporary dance piece exploring how one creates a sense of home for themselves – settling and uprooting and settling again to be uprooted again. The performer invites the audience into the chapters of her life, seeing her try to make it towards the future she wants; she takes them on a journey through various times, places, and spaces. http://sarahpoekert.weebly.com |

La Petite Bouffe is inspired by the movie La Grande Bouffe (Marco Ferreri) and competitive eating contests. It unravels an insight in a spaghetti‐al‐ragu competition in which two young female competitors are competing against each other while being tight to several etiquette rules and directed by a voice over who determines the duration of time. The piece is set in a Dystopian world where everything is available everywhere to everyone and were time duration can be controlled. www.margrietkimnguyen.com |

It’s and 2050 humanity is entirely dependant on electronic visual devices. Since we perceive the world exclusively through screens, we slowly became unresponsive to other stimuli. We, at the ‘pleasure centre’ created a retreat, where you can remember again how it is to smell, to touch, to feel...We will make you believe again that life is thrilling and meant to be lived to the fullest. “I’m speaking to you, from, somewhere in the future. I don’t know where, but nothing makes sense now.” Such a quote is spoken by the very being who has created this body of music. Such a world is seen and heard through illustrations and music depicting an unknown alias beaming his message and music into the past for us to hear, learn and build upon our own ignorance. An old radio. White noise. A man and a woman struggling to connect in a world somewhere between virtual and real. Napoleon’s Messenger is a play about afterlife in a new world of social media and the pervasive nature of the utopian online worlds we try to create. It explores the risks in not realising that no matter how fictionalised they become, the impetus behind these worlds is very real. https://www.facebook.com/ events/183969292104383 |

Ekko is both the name of the piece and a working method. An echo is traditionally defined as the repetition of a sound by reflection of sound waves. In this instance the solo plays with and challenges the different dimensions of echo within the body, space, time and movement - specifically exploring the tension between opposites. What occurs in the moment that we make a choice? How does this define and affect our future? Instragram @lisacb Funded with support from Bergen Kommune, Bergen Dansesenter and FFUK |
